Pierce Smith is a Rhinecliff resident and a life long supporter and collector of the visual arts.  After retiring from a career as an executive in banking, he began drawing and painting in 2000.  Primarily self taught, his works cover a broad range from abstracted landscapes to character revealing portraits. His technique employs rich, saturated colors, usually with layers of transparency.
