Award winning photographic artist, Maureen Gates, is pleased to join the Art Studio Views of 2010. Her studio is in the village of Rhinebeck on the second floor of the Starr Building.

Maureen is best known for her contemporary approach to photographic art, blending classical and modern to create natural and emotional images.  Her work conveys meaning to you as a piece of fine art. Photography as beautiful and timeless as ever yet more intimate…  capturing the beauty of our world and daily life through the lens of her camera. Dancing eyes, the hint of a smile, the touch of a hand, details of a flower, the delicate softness of a new baby….all this and more magically open up to Maureen as she sees with the eye of her camera. Maureen has had a lifelong passion for the art of photography. She employs many photographic techniques to create art pieces from her images.

Maureen’s work hangs in many homes and offices throughout the Hudson Valley Region. Her artistic vision has been used by many companies for their advertising. Her clients include: HGTV, IBM, QHP, Smithsonian, National Park Service, Bloomberg Press, Adams, CIA, North Western Mutual and many more.

Maureen Gates is a community minded person. She volunteers her photography services to many organizations. At Sharp Images Photographic she holds an annual fund raiser for the DSPCA. She is a member of Rhinebeck Rotary and volunteers her time to the Interact Club at Rhinebeck High School.  Maureen serves on the board for Rhinebeck Crew and is involved in many fundraisers for the school and other local groups. She is a past vice president for the local chapter on BNI.  Maureen donates some of her studio space to be a collecting place for Toys for Tots to be distributed to local children in need.

Maureen resides in the local area with her husband, William Drew, her two children, Justin & Lindsey and their dogs, Molly and Ajax, the dogs were rescued and adopted through the DSPCA  and two cats, Loca and Midnight.
